Look around you and you may well find birds' nests, under eaves, on balconies, or a metal pole, wherever there's safe a safe perch. They belong to our barn swallows and house swifts. The nests are not edible though they are considered auspicious. But, as producer Chan Siu Sin reports, their numbers have plunged in the last two decades largely due to urban enchroachment.
Bird lovers and researchers are doing all they can to help our barn swallows and house swifts as it becomes increasingly difficult for them to build nests and breed in Hong Kong. How can the community help?
