The recently released Avifauna of Taiwan 台灣鳥類誌 (Chinese-language version) may be of interest to Hong Kong birders.

The three large tomes (8kg you will not carry in the field unless looking for a workout) are the best academic survey of Taiwan's birds for many years. Published by Taiwan's Council of Agriculture's Forestry Bureau in cooperation with Taiwan's top research institute, Academia Sinica, it is the the result of six years of work led by highly respected ornithologist Dr. Lucia Liu Severinghaus et al.

You can buy these books on "Bookstore"（博客來網路書店）:http://www.books.com.tw/

Key in the key word "台灣鳥類誌". Books could be shipped overseas. But you have to be a member of bookstore first.

The Avifauna of Taiwan is now available for download at:

However, it seems that there is only in Chinese version.
