An unsuccessful breeding record in The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

A Scarlet Minivet couple started building their nest on a tall tree above an university bus station in front of my office on 18 or 19 March 2010.

The mother started sitting on the nest regularly from 28 March 2010.

Only the mother sat on the nest but the father sometimes came back to feed the mother.

The kids were born on 16 April 2010.

Unfortunately, a black kite chased after the father in the afternoon of 20 April 2010. Although the father escaped from the attack by hiding in a nearby tree, the black kite spotted the nest and robbed the whole nest of three kids. The three kids only survived for four days.

That's wildlife.
