when will be in HK? Author: yyattung Time: 27/09/2010 11:58
The first wintering adult BFS usually arrive in mid-October. Some young BFS could stay in HK over the summer and so their appearance may lead you to think the BFS have returned. But I just haven't seen any young BFS for more than two months (if any member saw it in this summer, please correct me!), any BFS present at Mai Po or other places in Deep Bay from now could be the wintering individuals.
Thank you very much

I saw 3 BFS in the mudflat on Sept 12, a rainy day.
Thank you very much to your post. These three BFS look to be a young bird to me because the plumage look a bit dirty. The adult birds could have very clean plumage when arriving HK.
As these could be young bird, they may actually stay in southern China all over the summer and then just wonder different sites in the summer months.
