I had this strange raptor soaring over Hu Poi reservoir today. Thought it was a Honey Buzzard on shape but it seems all dark underneath.  I shot a few shots two stops over exposed to see if I could get any colors on the underside but no it appears all dark.  Any thoughts.  I really don't have a guess about this one.

Thanks Kkoel, I do think it looks like a Greater Spotted Eagle but surprising to see it away from Deep Bay. I wonder are there any records away from deep bay?

Greater Spotted Eagles seem to roost somewhere in the Tai Lam area. It is not very unusual to see them over the Kam Tin Valley in the early morning or evening, heading to/from the Deep Bay area. I guess your bird at Ho Pui is probably doing the same.

True, I suppose there aren't many place to roost in Deep Bay.
