Hi there,

Saw this shrike last month in TBT. Suspect a bull-headed. Can someone confirm? Thanks

Yes, I think so.  What else can it be!  However, the plumage is very strange.  On one side there are scales on the breast, indicating a juvenile bird.  On the other hand, the color of the crown and back points to a mature male.  May be the color of the photo is adjusted to heavily saturate.

Actually, I had it over-exposed rather than saturated, because of the strong sun backlight... So hard to get the right colors on the camera.

The hybridisation issue is probably a bigger issue  in shrikes than is currently appreciated.
