1st should be a Siberian Stonechat
2nd a Common Tailorbird
3rd possibly a black-faced bunting
Author: yvicky    Time: 20/01/2011 23:08

2nd is a Yellow-bellied Prinia, note the grey head and yellow belly.

I think they look like:
1. Japanese White-eye
2. Yellow-bellied Prinia
3. Red-throated Pipit

But the quality of images makes it a bit tricky to be sure on 1 and 3.

I also make a guess :
1. Eurasian Wryneck
2. Yellow-bellied Prinia
3. Red-throated Pipit

I support your guess.

Looking at a larger image on a different computer, I agree with Eurasian Wryneck for No. 1.

sorry for the poor resolution! after checking my 'poor memory', I believe chunfai's guesses for #1+2 look most likely to be accurate.

#1 - the bird I see is much bigger than a Japanese white-eye (I could merely make out its color pattern, for I was somewhat facing the sun)

But you see, I really have no idea for #3, can only tell that it's bigger than a usual bunting, so pipit is more likely. Can anyone confirm?

Tks for all yr help!

Hi Butter,

Looking at your non-fb links yesterday, I think the birds are :

- Common (Fantail) Snipe

- Red-throated Pipit

- Dusky Warbler

- I don't know !

John

And the bird on the basket is Red-flanked Bluetail

the fourth looks like a pipit too. not sure which one however.
the bird on the basket seems more like a (red throated?) flycatcher than a bluetail...

Fourth bird is a Richard's Pipit.
Author: bond    Time: 9/02/2011 17:40

the bird on the basket should be a bluetail female, red-throated flycatcher should have a darker tail with white oval patches.
