interesting... I saw it in grass land, and no woodland nearby. There were two of them (young or females) with a Blackbird.

This prolonged period of cold weather is quite difficult for birds, and one can see a number of species in atypical habitats or sites as they forage. White's Thrushes are particularly obvious at the moment.
