Gathering place:  Mini Bus Stop / Turnaround at Tsim Bei Tsui

Target Species: Waterbirds

Free of Charge for all members.
HK$30 for non-member.

*** How to go to Mini Bus Stop / Turnaround at Tsim Bei Tsui :

1 - By Green public minibus #35 at Tai Fung Street, Yuen Long (Terminus) or at Tin Shui Wai West Rail Station and get off at Tsim bei Tsui (Terminus) http://www.i-busnet.com/minibus/nt/r35.php

2 -  By taxi at Tin Shui Wai West Rail Station

大家對星期日百搭日的去處有沒有提議呢???? 剛收到會員陳先生的電郵, 提議去大嶼山、南生圍及尖鼻咀, 不知大家有沒有其他意見呢???

Any suggestion regarding where to go on coming Sunday, the wild card day? Member Mr Chan suggested via email to go to Lantau island, Nam Sang Wai and Tsim Bei Tsui. How about you? Any other suggestion?

Normally at this time of the year, there is an outing to Kadoorie Farm. However, pervious records were not that good. Alternatively, I suggest Shek Kong, Tsim Bei Tsui or Tai Po Kau.

Thanks to our leader Fai Gor who led us to an uncommon trail in the area & resulted in a fruitful morning; also thanks to Wendy & Peter for their sharp eyes. Here are some of my record photos of the outing:
A pair of Ospreys were first spotted in the sky.

Later an Osprey with a big fish was happily flying over our head.

At the end of the outing a flock of Blue-tailed Bee-eater were flying in the sky (a lifer to me & my 1st Bee-eater in HK

This was an excellent day for a walk. The day was cloudy and just a bit hot. About 45 joined the day's outing, and with the help of Peter and Wendy, we got some good birds. 54 species were put down by Peter and I, and after we separated, he also got Collared Dove near Yuen Long.

I was at the Mai Po Boardwalk hide on Sunday, and saw a flock of 8 Bee-eaters flying towards Tsim Bei Tsui. Perhaps the same flock you saw while you were there!
