This Blue-throated Flycatcher was observe near my home Western Hong Kong Island along the path of a pedestrian stairwell after coming back from Po Toi at about 19:45. It was very exhausted and I could get extremely close and take these photos with my cell phone.
I suppose it is likely an ex-captive bird but it seems most records of this species have been from the autumn. Occasionally on migration birds get tired and found in completely exhausted state. So for this bird I am not sure.
An interesting find Brendan - no obvious cage damage that I can see.
At least the bug should help it to restore some energy.
Cheers

This appears to be of the race glaucicomans (Chinese Blue) because the orange is quite bright. The birds seen last year seem more like the race klossi. Author: kkoel Time: 2/10/2011 23:28
