幹事會巳決定重組中文名委員會，從新整理香港觀鳥會鳥類名錄的中文名稱,有興趣、有能力、有時間的人士可以申請加人，最終由幹事會決定組員名單，我會申請加入。

自上一次發佈整份名錄已有一段日子，大陸方面中國鳥類報告又剛更新了鳥類名錄，所以更有需要檢討香港的中文名字。

我做了一些比較，目前香港觀鳥會名錄跟中國鳥類報告名錄有差別的如下:

因為中文英文意思矛盾，所以有需要檢討一下是否有需要另定新名，歡迎大家發表意見。

有興趣，但請問
1. 幹事會何時在那裡公布了重組中文名委員會的消息？是我看漏了，還是這是內幕消息，幹事會尚未公布？抑或輝哥在這裡就是代表幹事會公布？
2. 何時開始接受申請加入，向誰申請，手續如何？
3. 申請人要有甚麼能力？
4. 重組後的中文名委員會架構包括委員有多少人？當中打算公開招募多少人，委任多少人？

我從主席那處得到消息，自作主張，先把部份工作做了一下，要請幹事會正式公告麽？還是完成工作要緊，不過，若有正式公告固然好。

還是想先討論中文名委員會的重組工作。

不管是中文鳥名還是英文鳥名，鳥類名稱是觀鳥活動和鳥類研究不可或缺的一環，因此我理所當然地認為中文名委員會應該是鳥會屬下的一個重要組織。我會很驚訝，如果幹事會從不向會員公告重組這個重要組織的消息；我想不到幹事會如何可以落實推行自己的決定，公開招募有興趣的人士加入中文名委員會，但又不正式公告重組的消息和招募細節。

工作不應該祗是輝哥一個人急，幹事會更應責無傍貸，無細節急也急不來。

今次祗是重組，意即已有一個中文名委員會，何不在新委員會成立之前，讓舊委員會繼續運作，避免出現真空期；與此同時，幹事會親自或委派一個代表作為重組的負責人(owner) ，定出重組的細節和時間表，並落實執行。

名不正，則言不順；始亂，則終棄，(或終重組 )。

我覺得要先做功夫，名份對我不重要，事情要做好，別教人看不起，不要讓其他鳥會專美。
我建議在二月廿五或廿六日開一次工作會議，因為沒有正式名份，所以任何人都可出席，建議16:30開始，大家可以提一下那天會更方便，我請食下午茶。

Dear Tony,

Thank you for the very useful links.  They do help build a knowledge management framework for the "naming of birds".  We members are envisioned to adopt world class, best management practice to drive this impactful initiative in the bird watching arena within Greater China.

We don't just want good framework.  We want the best.

Here is a working file that compare HK to Mainland and Taiwan, and we will start work from here.  About meeting time, if it is Feb 25, can it be at 19:00.  There is something that I want to do before 19:00.

We, a group of 5 members who have much passion towards this "bird naming" initiative, proposed for Dr H F Cheung's consideration to have the meeting on 26 Feb (Sunday)3pm at City University of Hong Kong at Kowloon Tong.  People will be so touched when they see that fire in all our hearts.

Sorry that I have to teach waterbird class till 14:30 at Mai Po.  The best I can do is 15:30 at Sheung Shui.  Actually, why don't all of us go to watch bird at Mai Po till about 15:00, then we can start talking about the list.
