Finally we came to the last outing of the Crested Bulbul Elementary Bird Watching course. On the Sunday March 4th we went to Maipo. Sitting comfortably in the coach on the driveway to the reception office, we saw flocks of barn swallows house swifts flying in the air. Not too far off stood a number of Cattle Egrets. Suddenly a White-breasted Waterhen walked swiftly across the coach. Getting off at the car park we saw Asian Azure-winged Magpies playing behind the branches. On the way in to the bird hides, we saw species and species of birds.
Three weeks ago in the Kowloon Park I was astonished to see a flock of twenty-odd black-crowned night herons resting on the trees. In Maipo outside the Education Centre I saw trees and trees of herons cormorants egrets. And it is a regular day in the Ramsar Wet land.
Maipo, finale to the Crested Bulbul course, offers a prelude to a new journey.
