Dalaoling National Forest Park 大老嶺國家森林公園
Last week I stayed in the park for 3 days. The first 2 days were very quiet, no birds or tourists! On the 3rd day, the situation started to change; maybe the cold air stream from the north brought the 1st batch of birds to the park. But still, the no. of birds I encountered was much lower than expected, probably the timing of my visit was a bit early for autumn migrants.
An unexpected large flock of very noisy White-throated Laughingthrush 白喉噪鶥 (probably over 30 nos.) was coming from slope below trying to fly over the vehicular path one by one. A few were scared when they were already half-way in the air & spotted me; they immediately returned to the tree top!
