It's nice to see the Curlew Sandpipers back at Mai Po. Are they the first migrants to turn up and this the normal time for them? Neil

I think they are the first group in this spring. I saw 10 from boardwalk on Monday. Also, we usually have the first Curlew Sandpipers in about mid-March in spring.

Mike , do you think that's a Golden Plover behind the curlews sands? Neil Author: tmichael Time: 15/03/2007 20:50
Hi Neil,
I think it's Grey - note the size, not much smaller than the Bh Gulls really.

I tracked down the little group of Curlew Sandpipers at dusk on Thursday evening and managed to get this record image from about 40 metres. Neil.
