Id please about two birds?
The size of first one is slightly bigger than dark-sided flycatcher.
The second one is far away. Therefore, I cannot guess its size.

Photos are excellent but still not perfect. There are very significant defference in the size between Small Niltava and Large Niltava that you can probably distinguish in a glance, but that may not show well in a photo. So I guess you need to do more work to judge the size of the bird. For example, if you can measure the size of the branch that the bird was standing on, or better still, if you have a photo that have a common bird next to it. Can you do that?
If you prove the size, please submit it to the HKBWS record committee. Author: leolee2012 Time: 23/01/2013 18:56
Thank you HF Cheung. The size I mentioned is just by guess as the photos is recorded 3 weeks before. Anyway, thanks a lot for your information. Author: Beetle Time: 23/01/2013 21:32
I think many have seen this bird and being discussed in previous threads, although there has not come to a conclusion.
But according to all of those who have seen it, the bird is rather big (people have said it was larger than bluetail, dark-sided flycatcher, etc.) and would rule out Small Niltava. However according to my observation, the bird was probably not large enough for a Large Niltava which should be 21~22cm according to available references.

If this is only Dark-sided Flycatcher size, so it seems Small Niltava is mmore likely. I have not realised that female Small and Large Niltava can be so similar before. I really hope that you can come up with a size similar to a Bulbul. If size is in doubt, it would be very useful to walk up and measure the size of the branches after the bird has moved.
