It's a Bull-headed shrike, a female. It is a winter visitor, probably a migrant about that I'm not certain.
Cheers

Thanks for ID!
It is difficult to distinguish bull-headed shrike female from brown shrike female/juvenile. Any hints? Author: tsheunglai Time: 12/02/2013 19:05
Dear Cheng
Field exprience always comes first.
For me I find the shrike in question is overcall quite warm in coloration. The short eyebrow (it looks so, thick in centre and thin out
quickly on sides of eye) and brown not darkish eyestripe are telling features. The scaled sides says it's a female and confirmed by its grey-washed brown back.
For reference, you may consult Craig Robson's Birds of Southeast Asia for comparison. Viney's Birds of HK and S China in general is also
helpful. For further comparison, the online Oriental Bird Images is excellent.
