Below were birds I saw when I was in vacation with my family during 07-27 to 08-07 in Thailand. It was not a birding trip but luckily I managed to go to three parks in Bangkok including Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park, Lumphini Park and Wachira Benthat Park. Most of them are common birds in Thailand but is new to me. Please correct me if the names are wrong. Thanks

Thanks Wilson. It did has a price. I usually got up earlier and did birding from 6am to 9am near my hotels before my wife and children woke up. But it was quite easy to see these birds in Thailand. They do not afraid of human.

Below are some caged birds I found behind the kitchen of the restaurant when I went to a beach in Pettaya. I believed that these birds were capture for illegal bird trade.
for my family holiday in Thailand, I use to do exactly the same, .. wake up 6:30 .. warm up lens on balcony .. leave at 7am (which is around sunrise) .. walk around and then go back to pick up wife for breakfast at 9am before setting off with her .. Author: wilsondring Time: 4/09/2013 11:54
according to our bird guide, .. the red-whiskered bulbul are kept instead of mountain bulbul coz the latter has almost gone from Thailand .. they kept for singing contests (which sounded strange for me as I don't particularly think they sing well compare with many other species .. )
