The white phase male is a great find - I have never seen a white phase bird in China.
However photo two shows a Japanese Paradise Flycatcher - mantle is too maroon and tail is too dark for Asian.

Peter Wong has pointed out to me that a white phase Asian Paradise Flycatcher with a long tail was seen and photographed at Tai Po Kau on 8 October 2003.
This was not reported in the 2003 HKBR but a photograph appears in the First Edition of the Photographic Guide to the Birds of Hong Kong.
So the Po Toi bird is (probably - any more?) the third white phase bird to be recorded in Hong Kong.
The Po Toi bird was not seen on Tuesday, a disappointment to the army of visitors who went to see it.
