Independent Auditor's Report for the general Charitable Fund-Raising Activities
The Social Welfare Department has issued a Public Subscription Permit to The Hong Kong Bird Watching Society to organise a fund-raising activity for the project "Hong Kong Got Fishpond - Eco-fishpond Management Agreement Scheme 2013-2015" from 15 December 2013 to 26 January 2014. Below is the independent auditor's report with the income and expenditure account. You are welcome to have a look.
While I appreciate the Society's efforts at transparency, it seems to me that the cost of getting this Report may well be greater than the amount of money raised. Is this audit something that was a regulatory requirement? Was it paid for by Government? It would be useful to have some background on this.

Thank you for your concern on this issue. First of all, the Independent Auditor's Report is for the project "Hong Kong Got Fishpond - Eco-fishpond Management Agreement Scheme 2013-2015" only, not for the Hong Kong Bird Watching Society. Besides, the report is required by the Social Welfare Department so that it is compulsory to do so. For the cost of the report, it is included in the project funding. Hope this could explain enough based on your question.
