Finally, a trail in the core area of the nature reserve. Chinese Grouse was likely to be seen in this section of the trail early in the morning; I was among the unlucky few who missed it!

Lianhuashan is a great birding site, although it's not always easy for photographers….
In 2009, I was on the track there and hadn't seen much, then a Chinese photographer showed me a shot of Chinese Grouse he had taken a few minutes earlier. I waited at that corner for hours, but no luck.
(Eventually, I saw the Grouse somewhere else a couple of days later !) Author: Paux Time: 10/07/2014 22:03
For 3 consecutive mornings, I waited there at 6 am without seeing any trace of the bird; of course as a birder I am quite used to this kind of disappointment! On the contrary, my team-mates met the bird at different times of the day and at different locations.

I think the "Cinereous Tit" may be actually Rufous-vented Tit.
Although the crest and vent can't be seen in your shot, the black bib and dark grey belly look distinctive enough for Rufous-vented (758 in Mackinnon and Phillipps) to me. Do you have any other shots of this individual ? Author: Paux Time: 15/07/2014 16:22
John, thanks for your correction. I agree with you that it's a Rufous-vented Tit after I checked the photo below.
