Glaucous Gulls with prey
When we visited the basalt cliffs of Alkefjellet, we saw 60 thousand plus nesting Thick-billed Murres (Brunnich’s Guillemot). Glaucous gulls was nearby to make a meal of unattended chicks. In arctic, there is no real raptor but the Glaucous gulls pretend as a predator and little sea birds such as Kittiwakes, Guillemot and Little Auk acts as a prey during the prosperous Arctic summer.
