The two photos of this flycatcher were taken on Potoi Island on 9 November last year. Is it Green-backed Flycatcher female? Thank you.
Sorry that I didn't ask last year because I didn't have the account at that time.
It could be - the underparts are quite yellow.
Can you give the exact date and any more photos?

The exact date is 9 November 2013. These two photos are the best that I have - other photos have similar posture but less clear. Author: wilsondring Time: 31/10/2014 21:54
do you not have to look at the bottom of the back to be sure if it is a green back female or a Narcissus flycatcher? Author: ajohn Time: 2/11/2014 16:06
I don't see any clear green tones to the upperparts. I would say that this is a female Narcissus. Still a good autumn record, though. Author: jsk_ppp Time: 3/11/2014 22:29
Thank Wilson and John for the comments. After reading more bird guides, I agree that it was a Narcissus female, according to <<A Field Guide to the BIRDS of South-East Asia>> of Craig Robson, which states that Narcissus female has mottling on throat-sides and breast. Some members of the Records Committee think this is worth processing as a possible Green-backed Flycatcher.
Jason, I have sent you an email message - please check. Author: vivian Time: 4/11/2014 18:40
