The head pattern of these two species is sometimes similar. A good feature to look for is the underpart pattern - Tristram's has a chestnut wash to the breast and flanks with diffuse chestnut streaks (as seen here), Yellow-browed has cleaner white underparts with black streaks. Notice also the chestnut colour on the rump and tail, another good feature of Tristram's. Author: tomatofamily Time: 28/11/2014 23:02
Thanks John for such detailed info to identify Tristram. Will not miss that from now on.
All the best.
