Digiscoped at about 200 metres in the good light on Wednesday using 60x on the zoom. I didn't notice the bird in the bottom left corner until I got the image up on the computer. Long toed stint? Neil

The real question is whether or not you can tick a bird you didn't see at the time from a subsequent digital photo?
Cheers

Mike,
There's been a long discussion on Ozbirdpix on this subject. The purist don't count it but I will. Neil. Author: tsheunglai Time: 28/04/2007 22:42 Subject: photographings or birding
Dear all
A photographer who is interested in human beings takes to the street and photos people. Later on, for some reason, he is more interested in one particular person in his photos. He posts his photos on a website and ask who that particular personis. One famous case is a photo of a Afganistan girl by National Geographic decades ago which became historic months ago.
Dear photographer of the long-toed stint, ask yourself this question, when you photoed the waders, did you know the birds? If the long-toed-stint bird you learn about its id only later, tell me what is the difference between your case with looking at the images in a photo birdbook? Of course, your photo was taken by you only!
Anyhow. do you know why that bird is a long-toed stint now? If you do, you are likely to be able to identify it when you see one in the future.
Thank you for proving the existence of such a bird at Mai Po recently.
