This is taken in a place near Bird Garden in Kowloon.
Date: 4 Jun 2015
What is the species of the bird? Is it wild or fled? When I saw it, there was another nearby.

Thank you very much! It is also a special species to me. Author: John Holmes Time: 23/06/2015 08:29 Subject: Necklace colours
Quoting from "The birds of Hong Kong and south China" by Viney, Phillipps and Lam: -
"Birds of south China race picticollis have blue-grey patches at the sides of the neck but birds showing the black necklace typical of more westerly races also occur in HK".
From the photo (and despite the location) this looks like the south China race.
So it seems more likely to be wild, but nothing is 100% certain with birds !

Thank you very much for your reply. Your reply is very clear. Author: ajohn Time: 7/07/2015 10:09
Given the location I think there is a chance that this is an escape from the bird market rather than a bird from the feral HK population.
But as John says, it's difficult to be entirely sure one way or the other. Author: xiang88 Time: 7/07/2015 18:18
Thank you!
