Tawny Fish Owl 黃腿漁鴞 - A pair of the owls was watching their baby below from the canopy of the tree; the baby owl dropped to the ground probably disturbed by the monkeys and was put back to a tree by the rangers.
Great found. How can you do some many travels in a year? With so many field observations in China, you are well qualify to be an expert on birds of China.

Fai Gor, you must be joking. I can describe myself at best just a keen bird watcher only. I'm still learning to ID the various bird species of China; I often seek the help of my more experienced friends for the ID or check the guide book after a day's field visit.
I like to bird in various parts of China as it's very convenient to arrange a trip in terms of traffic & accommodation; I can easily purchase an air ticket or a train ticket or book a room over the net. What's more important, the price is still very reasonable even though RMB is high vs HKD these days ! Author: Paux Time: 12/06/2015 12:16
