We have friends from Jilin, Harbin, and Daqing together... all going for the scaly-sided Merganser. But we also enjoy other birds around us. The following were taken by Mr Yao Wenzhi (姚文志) from Jilin (吉林省集安市).

Very nice photos - however that labelled Amur Falcon is a Northern Hobby.

Thanks Geoff for your compliment and Mike for the correction. I was too obsessed to see one in Northeast China and got it wrong when the feet of the Hobby was stained by some blood from its prey initially!
