The osprey surfed on water for two to three times. Any idea of what the purpose was of this act? Thank you.

Possibly dragging for fish (rather like a skimmer), or hoping to scare one into revealing itself for capture. I've seen them seize fish directly with a snatch into the water but never seen them do this- interesting photos.
