After the Society's years of active participation in the formulation of the plan, the Government finally launched Hong Kong’s first Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (BSAP) for 2016 to 2021 on 21 December 2016. The Society welcomes the plan and we are pleased that some of the recommendations put forward by the Society together with various environmental NGOs and academic sectors were adopted in the final plan. We will continue to work with the Government departments and other stakeholders to conserve and promote the biodiversity in and around Hong Kong. At the same time, we will keep monitoring the implementation progress of the BSAP as well as voicing out our concerns on various development projects/plans which threatens the city's biodiversity.
