It was a dry and warm day on PT. 3 peregrine falcons were seen from the ferry.

On the island, I could only find:
1. Brown shrike near the sisters' cafe
2. Little bunting at the helipad
3. Dusky warbler at the helipad
4. Daurian Redstarts (m & f)
5. Common Kingfisher

Until the appearance of a Maroon Oriole cheered up every birder today. Credit to Peter Ho who first found the bird.

Maroon Oriole is a great record, congratulations to all who went yesterday.
Interesting to see what the Records Committee says about it. It looks like the Taiwan ssp ardens

Of the three Peregrines from the Ferry, we saw an obvious migrant Peregrine flying low and fast over the water due north-east last Thursday and photos indicate it was an ssp japonicus or calidus migrating back to the far north.

Edward, nice photos, this is really an exciting experience and have great fun together with birders. T

Yesterday, there is also a nice Blue Rock Thrush (sub-species pandoo) near the pier. And other birders find an Eurasian Hoopoe and a Ashy Minivet on the island.
