I have just come back from a marvellous trip to Port Moresby (PNG) and Cairns (Queensland).
The main birding hotspot near Port Moresby is Varirata National Park, an hour's drive from the airport. Some of the best species are timid, but the effort to find them pays dividends.
I went there with Daniel Wakra, who knows the area intimately and has accumulated decades of experience looking for PNG's birds.
