Are you sure that this was taken in Hong Kong? With the largely black belly this looks like one of the Philippine or Bornean taxa which are often treated as different species.

Have learned that is apparently considered a sub-species Magpie Robin according to "Birds of the World" & is in the minority... was taken in HK... also noticed the hookless beak..... subspecies may be as a result of captivity & interbreeding, but is nonetheless considered a sub-species
