Hello,

Since last week in Lam Tsuen, I keep hearing birds with a five, same note call, calling to each other. I followed them for quite a while but had no success in actually seeing any of them, even though I was quite close. I have attached a recording of their call. You will also hear bulbuls and a crested serpent eagle (which impressed my son). I am interested in the other repeated calls. Thanks!
Matthew

Yes, as David says rufous-capped babbler. If you make soft 'pishing' noises these birds will often come very close to investigate, to within a metre if you are lucky.  Always impresses children (and adults).

Thank you! That makes sense.
