邊境禁區107閘24小時上鎖，直至另行通知
本會收到警方通知，由即日起，邊境禁區107閘改為24小時上鎖，直至另行通知。如需前往浮橋及觀鳥屋者，請致電2252-7120或2252-7121通知警方，警員將會到107閘為持有有效邊境禁區通行證者予以通行。
如有任何查詢，請聯絡米埔訪客中心，電話：2471-3480。

Gate 107 at Frontier Closed Area will be locked until further notice
Informed by Police Force that Gate 107 at Frontier Closed Area will be locked for 24 hours with immediately effect until further notice. Anyone would like to access Floating Boardwalk and Floating Hide; please call Police Force at 2252-7120 or 2252-7121 and Police will approach Gate 107 to open the gate for those who is holding the valid Frontier Closed Area Permit.
Should you have any queries, please contact Mai Po Visitor Centre at 2471-3480.

Just out of curiosity I am wondering how this is going to work? Surely, when you get birders going to the gate every 5 minutes before rising tide or receding tide the police are going to be VERY busy? I can imagine a huge line building up between police arrivals and also people being locked inside having to wait till police arrive so they can get out? And think of the potential danger this put birders in...when huge line of birders try to get to the hide asap after the police open the gate and a lot of people getting onto the floating bridge at once...I can foresee some pretty obvious disasters and accidents awaiting to happen...

I hope that this is only an interim arrangement during the hot summer period and that things will go back to normal when the next birding season comes.
During this off peak season for migratory waders, there may only be a few birders going to the boardwalk on a single day.  If the gate is locked back immediately after a birder has gone out, and the birder is the last one staying on the boardwalk and then his mobile phone runs out of battery, how can he contact the Police to open the gate for his return?  By jumping and waving his hands in front of the CCTV camera?

本會收到警方通知，由即日起，邊境禁區107閘開放時間回復正常安排，即每日開放時間為06:00到17:59，每日鎖閘時間為18:00到05:59。如需於鎖閘時間前往浮橋及觀鳥屋者，請致電2252-7120或2252-7121聯絡警方安排。如有任何查詢，請聯絡米埔訪客中心，電話：2471-3480。

Gate 107 at Frontier Closed Area resumed normal

Informed by Police Force that the opening time of Gate 107 at Frontier Closed Area resumed normal operation with immediately effect. The opening time is from 06:00 to 17:59 and the closing time is from 18:00 to 05:59. Anyone would like to access Floating Boardwalk and Floating Hide during the closing time; please call Police Force at 2252-7120 or 2252-7121 to coordinate with Police. Should you have any queries, please contact Mai Po Visitor Centre at 2471-3480.

First of all, this is good news!
Secondly, I doubt if anyone should contact the Police to open the gate for entry to the boardwalk during the period of 18:00 to 05:59, as the Closed Area Permit for access to the Lok Ma Chau Closed Area has stated a valid time limit of the permit, which is 06:00 to 18:00 (for my own permit and I believe it is the same for others').  When it is outside this time limit, the permit is not valid.
