為了恢復蘆葦叢原有的生態價值，本年夏季基圍 #8b部份將進行生境改善工程。改善工程將會為部份內河道清淤，及降低部份被陸生植物入侵的蘆葦叢地面，從而復修為質素較佳的濕蘆葦叢，以供鳥類棲息。

To enhance the ecological value of Mai Po’s reedbed, habitat enhancement work will be conducted this summer in Gei wai #8b. The work will involve desilting channels, the reedbed floor and removing invasive terrestrial plants. Wet reedbed will be restored to provide habitat for reedbed-dependent birds.

The enhancement work is expected to be completed by the end of October. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause over the coming months. For further information please contact the Mai Po Office at 2471-6212.
