I agree it is a Pygmy Wren-babbler (now Pygmy Cupwing) rather than a Shortwing.
Juvenile PWB are plainer and darker than the adult (see another here: http://www.hkbws.org.hk/BBS/view ... my%2Bwren%2Bbabbler).
Juvenile Shortwings are spottier, as with other chats/flycatchers: http://orientalbirdimages.org/se ... ird_Image_ID=159494
The absence of a tail and bill/leg structure also fit PWB better than a shortwing.

Great photos of a species that is always difficult to see.
