Just received report that Whimbrel U9 was seen in Sejingkat Power Station Ash Pond, Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia (1.642422, 110.465498) on 19-Nov-20.
First resighting of Hong Kong's flagged Whimbrel oversea.

From a collaboration tracking project with Fudan University, we had 3 Hong Kong's Whimbrel winter in Thailand, Indonesia and West Australia. I believe it is likely that Malaysia is another wintering ground for our autumn passage Whimbrel. We'll check with the observer in Malaysia to see how long this individual might stay there.
