On behalf of the Hong Kong Bird Watching Society, I would like to express our deepest gratitude to the contribution of Mr. Clive Viney towards the Society and the study of the birds of Hong Kong in the past several decades. Mr. Viney is well-known to all Hong Kong bird watchers and numerous overseas bird watchers. His book “Birds of Hong Kong and South China” first published in 1977 is such a classic that it is still being read and studied today.
It is my great honour to announce that the Executive Committee has unanimously elected Mr. Viney to be an Honorary Member to acknowledge his enormous contributions.
