Hi,
I'm a student looking to get into birding, and getting a first decent pair of binoculars. I've done a bit of research and I've seen recommendations for two that are in my budget range (HK$1000-1500) that I like:
1. Celestron Nature DX ED 8x42
2. Nikon Prostaff 7S 8x42
I was wondering if the community had anything to say about these models/brands. Celestron isn't represented in Hong Kong anymore so I will have to go through Amazon with purchasing/warranty problems with the Nature DX. On the other hand, I've seen some reviews with Nikon binoculars having loose plastic rain guards or lens covers.
Any help would be great, thanks. Author: lida Time: 16/06/2021 00:53
I cannot give any recommendations about the models, but Celestron Nature DX ED 8x42 is available here, you can contact the organization for enquiry: https://telescope.hobbyhk.org/nature-dx-ed-8x42-binoculars/Author: wcaptain Time: 17/06/2021 12:46
We usually try binoculars of birders during HKBWS outings before making such decision.
