Egrets can be artistic and fun. These selected photos were taken from Dec. 2018 to Dec. 2022, at Tai Wo, by the Lam Chuen River.
They come here from around Dec. to Jan. each year. They return to the trees from the sea, from about 3:30 pm. They start work at sunrise, at an amazingly accurate timing (within 1 minute of the scheduled sunrise time). They all fly out to the sea all at once; quite spectacular.
Pacific (Eastern) Reef Egret (Heron) was spotted at Tai O (near Tai O Heritage Hotel), on 2020.12.24. A non-white egret, for a change.
A fast hunter on rocky shore.
