Despite hearing all the bird news from this place, it is the first time I ever been there. It is a headland of limestone stretching out more than a mile into the Bristol Channel. It include some of the heathland species of UK and some sea birds.

A lot of summer visitors have now arrived, including warlbers, Wheatears, swallows and Martins.

Also, there was a Harris's Hawk near my school yesterday, it was on the field eating something. I was on the van so I couldn't get a closer look at it. There was a Carrion Crow right next to it, so it was obviously not a Buzzard due to it's smaller size. The bright wing patch was also obvious.

It was very definately an escaped bird, as I don't really expect a Harris's Hawk flying all the way from America to England. There have also been reports of a Harris's Hawk around Cheddar Reservoir with Jesses, so I presume they are the same bird.

Went for a short walk at Brean Down this afternoon, it was only for an hour and a half. Very sunny day with the blue bells fully flowered, they weren't there last time I went, so some pretty impressive views with the whole headland covered with this carpet of blue.

Not alot of special species today, only my first Cuckoo heard this year and a single Yellowhammer. But a nice day never the less.
