福壽螺是一種入侵物種。由於沒有天敵的威脅，牠們的數量不斷上升，從而威脅其他原生生物。福壽螺的主要食糧是水邊植物，例如通菜、水稻等。牠們除了影響農民生計，導致經濟損失外，還會減少其他生物的食物來源，令其他生物的存活率降低。福壽螺不論在經濟或生態方面均有負面影響。位於新界北的塱原濕地正受著福壽螺的威脅，有見及此，我們現正招募義工參與「齊來清除福壽螺」的活動，目的是要減少福壽螺的數量，並降低福壽螺對塱原濕地的負面影響，希望各界人士踴躍參與！

活動詳情:
日期: 2008年7月12日 (星期六)
時間: 下午2:00-5:30
集合地點: 上水火車站美心西餅門外 (大會將安排專車接送)
活動地點: 塱原
名額: 60人 (參加者需年滿12歲或以上)
費用全免

Golden Apple Snail is an invasive species. Their population increases rapidly in the absense of natural enemy. Golden Apple Snail eats all kinds of plants that grow near water like Water Spinach, Paddy Rice etc. They cause economic lost to local farmers and also affects native organisms by redusing food source.
Long Valley has been invaded by Golden Apple Snail for long time. The Conservancy Association and the Hong Kong Bird Watching Society are going to hold a Golden Apple Snail Removal Activity. All are welcome!

Details:
Date: 12 July 2008 (Saturday)
Time: 2:00 - 5:30 pm
Gathering place: Sheung Shui KCR station outside Maxim's Cake Shop (Coach will be arranged)
Venue: Long Valley
Quota: 60 (Participants aged over 12 are welcome to join)
Free of charge.
Deadline for application: 9 July 2007 (Wed)

Please send the participant name(s), sex, age and contact number to HKBWS office by email (yvi cky@hkb ws.org.hk, please delete space) or fax (3547 8399). The personal information are used for purchase of insurance.

還有多少位....兩位成人可否帶同一位十二歲下的小童?

活動還有很多位!
十二歲以下小童可以在成人陪同下參加此活動，但請務必留意小童的安全。

There are plenty of space.
Children aged under 12 can only join the activity with parent's/guardian's accompany. Parents and guardians must take extra care of the children.

活動當日順利舉行，在短短的一個早上，我們共清除了整整一桶的福壽螺。
The activity was held sucessfully. We have removed a whole bucket of Golden Apple Snail in a morning.
