I have been using my 1D mk III with a variety of lenses recently and intermittently I find the autofocus is not working. If I touch the autofocus ring it starts off and then focuses ok. It is seems the AF is slightly sticky and I wondered if others had noticed this problem or whether I should take the body back to Canon - I suspect it might be down to high humidity but I am not sure.
Thanks

Andrew,
I doubt it's the high humidity we have. Does the AF problem goes away once you move indoor in a air con'd environment? Does this happen to more than one lens you have?
I'd suggest checking the gold contacts on the body. Make sure they are clean and not oily. Clean the contacts on both the body and lens(es) using a lint free cloth with little pure alcohol on it.
Best of luck!

Thanks kk. I tried it indoors and it seemed to work ok. I hav cleaned the contacts but no real chance to try again since.
Next weekend will be the next go.

Andrew
