Greetings all,
I enjoyed birding Tuesday an area of Hong Kong that I hadn't been to before, thanks to the talented and highly informative guiding of Mr. John Allcock. We began at Luk Keng around 7am and worked our way towards Wu Kau Tang via Lai Chi Wo. Volume of birds wasn't spectacular (especially as we got closer to Wu Kau Tang), but had some nice species show up:
1 Accipiter species (seen feuding with a Large-billed Crow at some distance)
3 Asian Brown Flycatchers
1 Black-capped Kingfisher
1 Dollarbird
1 Greenish Warbler
8 Greater Necklaced Laughingthrush
3 Grey-capped Greenfinch (perched on a telephone wire at the beginning of our hike)
3 Grey Treepie (finally seen near the end of our hike, after only hearing them for quite some time)
1 Emerald Dove (a transient blur darting away from us, but vivid colors were evident)
8 Hair-crested Drongo
1 Pygmy Wren Babbler (also several others heard)
3 Rufous-capped Babblers
1 Yellow-browed Warbler
1 Yellow Bittern
