Extra-ordinory! That is new to me. I don't know they like salt-water marshes.

Fantastic photo.
This plus the Leopard Cat. Makes the bird photos seem very ordinary. Author: bkenneth Time: 20/10/2008 09:47
Superb picture ! Is that a Burmese Python?
Can someone also recommend a book for HK Snakes (apart from the AFCD guide to Poisonous Snakes) please?
Thank you very much.

Great picture, Sammy and Winnie !
A few years ago I saw a large snake in Pond 11, all the waterbirds were pecking at it...
Next time I think I'll take a small torch to Mai Po to check the hides before I go in. I wouldn't want to trip over one of these in the dark ! Author: sammysam Time: 20/10/2008 22:15
Thanks all~
The Python came with the tide and welcomed by the waders.
Interesting pictures!
Waders are welcoming the python! Author: ajohn Time: 21/10/2008 11:13
I think the birds are probably mobbing the python rather than welcoming it. They don't want to get eaten so they are making sure they know exactly where it is! Author: bkenneth Time: 23/10/2008 10:58
Thank you for identifying it for me, John.
Superb pictures of HK wildlife!
