Though it's also located at the southern HK, Lamma Island is not a birding site as popular as Po Toi. Shown from other members that some nice birds have also been found in Lamma, I started my 1st birding in Lamma last Sun (3May09).
It was a very comfortable and convenient birding site, though the result on that day was not so satisfactory (only 1 or 2 extraodrinary species had been found). After a ferry, I was able to go birding, hiking and dining just near the small area of Yung Shue Wan. Right besides the villages were some woodland areas that many birds kept calling, like the cuckoos. Further from the villages, I walked along the Family Walk and visited Pak Kok village. There, it was just like a paradise and I've never thought of such a peaceful village with seaview and spacious gardening area in HK! Most of the birds were found along this trail.
A pity that I could not see a lesser coucal, that has been seen before in Lamma Island.
