Terrific shots especially the first one which has great pose and composition, Wing! Author: lwingkay Time: 21/06/2009 00:51
#1 is my favourite. Being on the same level plane as the bitten, the fieldscope makes it possible for the reed and the bitten to be reproduced in a distortion free manner, thanks to the ergonomic flatness achieved through using a fieldscope to shoot. Because of the long focal length, the reeds in the front and at the rear become so compressed together that they emerge as a defocused green curtain for the bitten, a background that helps to make the bitten even more prominent in the shot.
The capture is timely here. The climbing up posture adds on the looking up one, strongly telling that an attack was about to take place and without telling, the victim was sure to be a dragonfly.
Congratulations and lots of thanks for the inspiration from this shot.
Regards,
Pete
