Taken with Swarovski's 80 HD ATS and teleconverter TLS800 and Nikon's D700.
Location: Kowloon Park
Date: Nov 12, 2009 pm

1 The ISO 1000 and shutter speed are repsectively 1000 and 1/20 of a second

2 The ISO and shutter speed are respectively 1000 and 1/10 of a second.

Great shots, Peter...in particular the second one, apart from the composition, it also tells us the general environment where this bird normally stays.

It appears that you manage to get the right focus (manually) and keep steady enought to have this shots being taken at 1/10 and 1/20 second.
The L-bracket did some help, is it?

Thanks for viewing and giving comments. This thrush forages on the ground most of the time, moving swiftly among the little shrubs, posing much difficulty to digiscopic focusing. I was lucky that it stayed long enough before flying away.

As regards stabilisation, the L-bracket has become an indispensable tool of mine for TLS800 photography for two reasons: 1) superb ability to stabilize, allowing for much lower shutter speed to be possible; and 2) providing a firm anchorage for the TLS800 on the fieldscope, preventing the fieldscope-end of the TLS800 from fracturing as the digiscopic set up is being moved around in the field.
