many thanks to geoff for his generous help to ID this bird for me.
other expert opinion is welcome.

it did call occasionally ~

sun is too strong today ~

drinking water ~

This is the first time I have seen the photos at true size.

This bird is surely close to a nominate Red-throated Thrush, first winter female.

I think that this is probably a 'pure' Red-throated Thrush (first winter female). The rufous tones on the breast are rather obscure but if one looks closely, especially of the close up of the head the feathers are rufous. The blackish moustachial is normal for Red-throated.
