There was a 1st winter Mew Gull Larus canus on the mudflats this morning. I saw it at considerable distance from the HKBWS hide. Apparently, this is the first autumn record, all previous occurrences being in the January-March period. I was wondering if anyone in the New Hide saw the bird and managed to photograph it.
